SPARK is now accepting applications from U.S. colleges
to host SPARK students during the Summer 2026 semester!
SPARK is currently accepting host institution applications on a rolling basis until March 2026. A final deadline will be provided closer to this time.
SPARK collaborates with accredited American colleges to host students during the summer in-person semester. Both two- and four-year institutions provide a culturally enriching experience for Russian students on their campuses.
During the Summer semester, host institutions are expected to enroll participants into a full course load of in-person courses as well as provide opportunities for community engagement and cultural enrichment. SPARK students take various courses in general studies, specialized subjects, and American studies courses.
SPARK program covers all expenses related to participation in the program, including students’ tuition, housing, meals, books, airfare, and additional stipends. In addition, the program issues students’ DS-2019 forms and managed the U.S. visa process.
Expectations from U.S. Colleges and Universities:
Accredited institutions including community colleges, colleges, and universities can host students;
Experience working with international students;
Ability to offer range of in-person, summer semester courses;
Enrollment in on-campus housing and meal-plans. Flexibility is provided in case housing and meal-plans aren’t available;
Connecting students with the local community, including host or friendship families, volunteering opportunities, and cultural enrichment activities to help students learn more about American culture and society;
Ability to offer cost-share, which can be in the form of tuition, housing, or meal reduction.
