The Summer Program for Academic Research and Cultural Knowledge is an exciting initiative for Russian college students to study in the United States during the Summer semester and virtually during the Fall semester. SPARK students will immerse themselves into communities across the U.S., while taking academic courses, exploring U.S. society, learning about and sharing culture, and becoming engaged volunteers.

Summer Semester: Students will enroll at colleges and universities in various regions of the U.S. and will take six-to-eight-week long courses over the summer semester as full-time students. Students can take courses in a range of subjects, including their field of study, electives, and American studies. Students will also travel to a U.S. national park for a cultural excursion to learn about a unique aspect of American history and geography. Students will also have the option to continue their learning experience during the Fall semester.

Fall Semester: To continue the successes of academic and cultural exchange, students will have the option to enroll virtually in one to two courses at their host institution during the Fall semester. While back home in Russia, SPARK students will have the unique chance to continue expanding on their American connections and learning goals.

During this exciting program, SPARK students will have many opportunities to engage with their new host communities, learn first-hand about American society, volunteer, and share the uniqueness of Russian culture with others.
